RUDII

RUDII team (“Representations, Uses, Developments and Engineering of Information”) brings together researchers in library, information and communication sciences and in science of sports, as well as professionals from several academic institutions working on education and training from the perspective of information literacy. It is a member of the CNRS Multidisciplinary Thematic Network “Research on Education”, Carnot Cognition Institute, French Society of Information and Communication Sciences, research groups on “Info-communicational practices” and “Critical Digital Approaches”, from the Aquitaine Research Network on Digital Education.

Scientific presentation

RUDII team works on information cultures and literacies in learning contexts, from a social sciences perspective centered on information ecosystems. Information Engineering refers to a set of approaches, methods, technical devices implemented in the design of activities to effectively achieve informational objectives (research, monitoring, discovery, evaluation, archiving, accessibility, communication of information).

They aim to develop information skills and practices in the context of setting up information systems to meet a given demand in a variety of situations (professional, cultural, school, learning, etc.), in working environments and / or leisure, in information ecosystems including digital environments, distance learning platforms, systems dedicated to the management, mediation and support of knowledge, simulation systems of the activity or anticipation of concrete situations (emergency scenarios, crisis management, etc.), spaces dedicated to design and learning activities, scientific, technological or documentary mediation tools.

RUDII researchers also analyze representations (including stereotypes), emotions and imaginations around digital technologies and access to information, as well as the conditions for making information available and accessible.

A summary of the team’s research topics is presented in the Revue Française des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication.
