The objective of the SPRINT LabCom is to design high-purity organic semiconductors to meet the needs of French and European industries in the field of organic photodetectors (OPD) and organic photovoltaic solar cells (OPV). These organic devices represent a promising alternative to current systems based on inorganic semiconductors.
The ANR SPRINT LabCom allows a co-development of robust semiconductor materials while keeping an acceptable complexity, i.e. a minimal production cost, thanks to the academic / industrial interaction. Particular is on understanding the role of synthetic impurities on the performance of solar cells and photodetectors and their reliability.
The ANR SPRINT LabCom has the ambition to define the purity thresholds necessary for the large-scale industrialization of organic semiconductors for OPD and OPV markets.
