Award Recognition for Outstanding Research on Fractional Calculus in Engineering Sciences: Modeling, Identification, and Control of Living and Autonomous Systems

Stéphane Victor was awarded the Researcher Excellence Award at the IWW 2025 Conference held this November in Istanbul, Turkey.

The International Conference on Image Processing, Wavelets and Applications to Real-World Problems (IWW) brings together researchers, academics, and industry experts to explore the latest advances in image processing, wavelet theory, and their practical applications. The conference fosters collaboration across universities, industries, and public institutions, providing a platform to share innovative methods, tackle real-world challenges, and inspire interdisciplinary solutions.

This year, for the 12th edition of IWW, Stéphane Victor was awarded the Researcher Excellence Award in recognition of his innovative work and impact on the research field across various disciplines.
His plenary session presented an overview of his contributions to fractional calculus, spanning both theoretical and applied aspects. The IMS laboratory is proud to support such outstanding work.

Stéphane Victor is an Associate Professor at the IMS Laboratory and the University of Bordeaux.
His research explores non-integer differentiation as a tool for operator theory and modeling, as well as for trajectory control and planning, finding applications across a wide range of domains, including autonomous vehicles, health, climate and environmental systems, aeronautics, advanced manufacturing, and software development.
