This thesis studies two technologies intended for future 6G systems. A system operating in the D-band (110-170 GHz) is proposed to transmit data at very high data rates while complying with European Union recommendations. To achieve the targeted performance, a Polymer Microwave Fiber (PMF) cable is first investigated: its physical properties are analyzed and then validated through measurements. Once the cable performance is known, the PCB part is developed using an innovative technology, the Air-Filled Substrate Integrated Waveguide (AFSIW). Design methods were developed during this thesis to better predict the behavior of this technology. Several prototypes were then fabricated and characterized through measurements, before a final system was implemented to assess the feasibility of a transceiver combining AFSIW and PMF technology.
