This work focuses on the development of sustainable solutions for vibrational energy harvesting to address the growing need for energy autonomy in connected devices. It investigates the fabrication of a piezoelectric energy harvester based on lead-free potassium sodium niobate (KNN) ceramics as an alternative to conventional lead-based materials. The device consists of a stainless-steel substrate onto which a piezoelectric layer and electrodes are deposited by screen printing. The main objective is to reduce energy consumption and the environmental impact associated with device fabrication while preserving its functional properties. To achieve this, several strategies are explored, including the optimisation of sintering parameters using spark plasma sintering (SPS) and the development of more environmentally friendly water-based inks. This research aims to contribute to the eco-design of vibrational energy harvesting devices.
