“The past year was marked by many accomplishments that contributed to the continued increasing of scientific visibility and influence of the IMS Laboratory.
International collaborations were particularly dynamic, with excellent outcomes for several European projects that reached completion, such as HERMES and FVLLMONTI, to name just a few. IMS also played a major role in the success of numerous conferences, notably ESREF 2025 and RFIC 2025, which the laboratory co-organized and chaired. I would like to highlight the dedication of all colleagues who have been actively involved internationally, taking on key roles and responsibilities.
On the institutional front, the year was marked by the appointment of the new executive team at Bordeaux INP, one of our three supervisory institutions. Through these New Year wishes, I would like to reiterate my full support to our colleagues Guillaume Ferré, CEO, and Sylvie Renaud, Vice President in charge of Research and Technology Transfer.
Furthermore, the year concluded with the elections to the central councils of the University of Bordeaux, another of our three supervisory institutions. I would like to acknowledge the commitment of our colleague Dean Lewis, current President of the University of Bordeaux, who led the list that came out on top in all the relevant electoral colleges. The election of the new President of the University will take place at the very beginning of this year.
I also extend my congratulations to IMS members who received scientific awards and distinctions in 2025.
At the same time, our strong industrial partnerships continued to grow, notably through the renewal of our joint laboratory with Stellantis and the creation of a new joint laboratory with NXP Semiconductors.
IMS also remains deeply committed to education and knowledge transfer, thanks to the continued dedication of our teams to supporting engineering students on the Bordeaux campus, supervising our PhD students, and leading numerous science outreach initiatives for the general public and school audiences. Additionally, the laboratory’s expertise was highlighted through two IMS-led summer schools, both of which were highly successful.
At the core of our mission, interdisciplinarity was further strengthened in 2025 with the launch of the BioMAS initiative within the laboratory. This collaborative project brings together several research groups around biotechnologies and advanced modeling to support sustainable health.
Finally, IMS continued to uphold strong and shared values. The implementation of an in-house Equality Unit, the initiatives led by our Environmental Transition Committee, and our involvement in launching and supporting the GdR DEFIE all demonstrate our commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment and advancing more sustainable research practices.
These achievements are the result of the daily efforts of our members, whom I warmly thank.
On behalf of the IMS management team, I wish everyone a very happy 2026, marked by collective success and personal fulfillment—without forgetting what matters most: good health.
We also extend our best wishes to all our institutional and industrial partners, with whom IMS is proud to move forward in shaping the future.
Together, let us make 2026 another year of ambition, driven by the same shared momentum.”
