PhD opportunity in electronics and sensing

The IMS laboratory is looking for a motivated PhD candidate to develop next-generation microwave sensors to better understand the impact of environmental exposure on human health and aging.

Thesis title: « Microwave metamaterial sensors for environmental health monitoring: from design to exposome integration »

  • Location: IMS laboratory, Bordeaux, France
  • Salary: approx. €2,300 gross/month
  • Start date: October 1, 2026
  • Duration: 3 years

The candidate is expected to have a background in electronics, RF, sensing, or applied physics and show an interest in sensor design, modeling, and experimental work. Knowledge in data analysis or Machine Learning is a plus. Motivation for interdisciplinary research is also expected.
