HDR DEFENSE of Vincent ROBIN - June 13, 2025

Vincent ROBIN will defend his HDR on June 13, 2025 at 10:00 am in the amphitheater JP. DOM of the IMS Laboratory, on the subject: Education and training to transform territorial subsystems in a multi-level perspective of sustainable transitions.

« My research focuses on managing transformations both within and beyond companies to support the transition from the “regime” (the dynamic equilibrium of a socio-technical system) and the “landscape” (the broader environment in which the system exists) towards a circular society. This work is structured around three main axes:

  1. The mechanisms driving transformation within companies—product, process, strategic, and organizational innovations—towards a circular economy model;
  2. The transitions of all stakeholder entities within the socio-technical system towards a circular society;
  3. Education for sustainable development and training for transition processes.

Individuals are deeply influenced by their environment—social, territorial, corporate—as well as by their past, present, and potential futures. The challenge is to equip them with the tools to observe, understand, anticipate, and act in this complex context. One of the approaches I have explored is the development of competencies that enable individuals and groups to engage in systemic thinking, to reflect critically on the challenges of transition, and to take informed action. This, in turn, supports progress toward a circular society. » – Vincent Robin.
