The BEE Branch has been honored with the 2025 IEEE Regional Exemplary Student Branch Award, a prestigious recognition granted by the IEEE MGA SAC Awards Committee to outstanding student organizations demonstrating exceptional activity and impact.
Hosted within the IMS Laboratory, the BEE Branch is a highly active IEEE student association driven by PhD students. Over the past two years, the branch has reached several significant milestones thanks to the continuous commitment and enthusiasm of its members.
Among the most visible developments has been the launch of a new artistic direction, including the creation of a completely redesigned website and a new promotional video aimed at strengthening the association’s identity and visibility.
The branch has also organized two major editions of BEE Week, which brought together more than 300 students and over 24 speakers. These events celebrated the 75th anniversary of the IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Society and featured notable guest Sven Mattisson, as well as the introduction of a new round-table format encouraging discussions between researchers, students, and industry experts.
Another important milestone was the creation of the IEEE Control Systems Society chapter, which further accelerated the development of the branch by enabling additional events throughout the year.
These achievements add to other recognitions received by the association, including the Best IEEE Microwave Theory & Technology Society Chapter Award. They also follow a particularly symbolic milestone for the branch, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024.
Together, these accomplishments led the IEEE MGA SAC Awards Committee to recognize the BEE Branch with the 2025 IEEE Regional Exemplary Student Branch Award, highlighting the remarkable energy and dedication of the IMS PhD students who continue to shape and grow the association.
Congratulations to all the members involved for their outstanding commitment and the vibrant community they have built.
