Dean Lewis re-elected President of the University of Bordeaux

On January 22, 2026, Dean Lewis was re-elected President of the University of Bordeaux for a second four-year term.

At the beginning of 2026, Dean Lewis was re-elected President of the University of Bordeaux, one of the three supervisory bodies of the IMS laboratory.

This re-election took effect on January 22nd, for a four-year term. It follows the elections to the university’s central councils, held at the end of 2025, and during which the list led by Dean Lewis came out on top in all the relevant electoral colleges.

His project, “Affirmer Université Ensemble” (“Affirming the University Together”), aims to:

  • reaffirm the university’s public service missions and adapt research and training activities to major contemporary challenges;
  • ensure the conditions necessary to fulfill these missions by improving working conditions, attractiveness, budgetary sustainability, and governance;
  • strengthen the university’s commitment to environmental and digital transitions, by placing sustainability, responsibility, and ethics at the heart of collective decision-making.

Dean Lewis is Full Professor of Electronics at the University of Bordeaux and affiliated with the Waves research group at the IMS laboratory.

We wish him every success for this second term!
