The IMS laboratory is looking for a motivated intern to take part in the KiWin research project aiming to revolutionize maritime transport through kite traction.
You will assess advanced adaptive control algorithms for a 5m² kite and compare with existing robust control methods based on the CRONE methodology, with a particular focus on Iterative Learning Control (ILC) algorithms.

Project title: « Iterative learning control of vessel propulsion system based on tethered kite »

  • Location: IMS laboratory, Bordeaux, France
  • Salary: approx. €600 net/month
  • Start date: February 1, 2026
  • Duration: 6 months

The candidate is expected to be a 3rd year engineering school student or Master’s student, with solid knowledge in dynamic systems modeling and control, robust and adaptive control. Good coding skills in Matlab/Simulink are also highly desired.
