PhD opportunity in healthcare engineering

The IMS laboratory is looking for a motivated PhD candidate to work on the improvement of artificial pancreas technologies.

The following thesis is part of the MIMICbio project, funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR). It aims to overcome the limitation of partial automation in automated insulin delivery (AID) systems by taking inspiration from the mechanisms of the pancreatic islets, and by learning from the lifestyle of type 1 diabetes (T1D) patients.

Detail

Thesis title: « Mathematical Modelling of human pancreatic Islet electrical aCtivity for bio-inspired automated insulin delivery system »

  • Salary: starting from 1800€ net/month (additional remuneration through teaching missions may be proposed)
  • Location: IMS laboratory, Bordeaux, France
  • Start date: October 2025
  • Duration: 3 years
