The research in the IMS is organized in 14 groups of research in 2 poles. Each research group assumes responsibility to keep the highest scientific level and development. To conduct their research, teacher-researcher and reshearcher from the laboratory are based by common infrastructures in experimental platforms which are in the following list.

The laboratory IMS keep his technologic means in his building and in the school "Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie, de Biologie et de Physique", it had material and human ressources in analysis, assembly technics, mechanical and accelerated ageing fields. In relation with the abilities in chimistry and information technologies from Bordeaux, it contributs to development of micro and nano technologies as a result of upstream and applied research projects.
