Overview

The issues in this area are information and communication informations technologies in the field of transports applications, in order to contribute to the development of more economical, safer and more sustainable transports. The purpose of this GPU, over the bring to the fore of skills of the IMS in this area, is to strengthen and create a synergy between groups to promote innovative multidisciplinary emergence approachs capable to solve scientifics obstacles befrorehand identify and answering to issues of transports area. It is about all kind of transport (plane, train, boat,...) and infrastructures around them. In terme of positioning, research activities, projects and industrial partnerships, responsibilities, means/platform, common laboratories and other partnership existing in the other groups IMS's groups already reflect a strong involvement in this area. One of the laboratory's specificities which is to cover every area of EEA, from componant to system in broard sense have to permtit to complete this objective; about transport, we can talk about the componants, sensors, reliability, energy, signal treatment, system, insfrastructures organistion and human inclusion areas.

Five test themes corresponding to great technologic challenges are defined, each including many projects focus on a scientist and technologic obstacle and including theoretical, methodological, technological and applicative aspects. Depending on opportunity, some projects can be common to many GPU. Those projects are in scientist keeping with thematic research supported by different IMS groups, by GdR of CNRS in participation with, and with Bordeaux's University and IPB/Enseirb-Matmeca formations. They totally agree with CPER 2014-2020 laboratory priorities, Aquitaine Region and his clusters (Aetos, Robotic, Topos, …) priorities, world competivity Aerospace Valley Aquitaine/Midi-Pyrénées pole priorities, national industrails politic and the 34 plans lunch by the government priorities and european program H2020 priorities.

  • WP3 : Terrestrial innovative transport
Problems on assaitance system for driver (ADAS) and autonomous driving, safer and interconnected, electric transport vehicule (tramway, future TGV), showed up the emergence new needs of conception in link group area, motorisation (vehicule 2l/100km), energy management (autonomous and power of batteries, electric recovery terminlas) and including driver :
    • WP31 : Modelisation and inclusion of the driver dynamic, in the development framework of help driving systems quick enough to answer in emergency situations while leaving the driver master of his vehicule, without need of specific actuator of driving
    • WP32 : Help driving  and optimisation and traffic management keeping safety and confort of the driver. Identification of macroscopic criteria (trafic management, travel time, consumption, emissions,...) and integration in a  local commands control strategy, at vehicule scale, throught cooperative driving
    • WP33 : Ground link, optimisation of performances in vibration isolation. In the framework of CO2 emisson reduction purpose, mass of vehicule decrease. Mass relative variation between a charged vehicule and an empty vehicule become more and more important and lead to a significant degradation of performance in vibration isolation
    • WP34 : Motorisation : richness regulation of a internal combustion engine by rugged approach to Nox reduction
    • WP35 : Charge status estimation and aging diagnosis of batteries by few parameters models
    • WP36 : Electrochemical modelisation of  beams and definition of a electronic fuse pilotage law to protect beams, prevent aggravated short circuits and reduce to much wiring
    • WP37 : Energy production and recovery. Development of componant and organic micro-system with organic solar cells for production and use of electrostrictive and piezoelectric materials for enrgy recovery
    • WP38 : Including residual constraints in induced componant during fabrication step of integrated circuit. On assembly level, appears SiP notion (System in Package), regrouping in a box all integrated componant needed to complet system working
    • WP39 : Power transistor robustness under rugged regime. Characterization, primarily thermal and electric in transistion and in static, power transistor IGBT type and Power MOFSET (Si, SiC et GaN) in extreme aging mode (short circuit and avalanche). Simultaneously, with experimentations, modelisation by finite element will allow to unterstand degradation mecanism due to extrem aging phenomenom and to decouple them

  • WP4 : Green ship
In the nautic area, as well as tourism or industrial activities (trawler with a reduced energizing consumption, offshore wind turbine maintenance ship,...) problems consist in develop an electric propulsion by batterie and green pilotage
    • WP41 : Navigation help, automatic pilot. Automatic pilot for sailboat don't give a satisfactory result for some kind of sea, which induce a decrease of performance and sometimes condust to critical situations like dismastings or capsizing, in addition settings required determination of an important number of parameters
    • WP42 : Developing a traction system by kite intended to be installed on ship in order to reduce fuel consumption and pollutants emissions. In this system, the kite is controled thanks to engine, piloted by an automatic pilot
    • WP43 : Chip package interaction in rugged environment. The petroleum research in deep level impose working on very high temperature (175°C, even 200°C), the marine environment is particularly corrosive. New physical models of degradation for meallurgy have to be developed, as well as physical model connecting material degradation of the box to the degradaton of the working of the integrated circuit
